Many riders have achieved the Randonneur and Super Randonneur titles in their first year of cycling. Most randonneurs are successful once they accomplish at least one century or 100 Km ride before their first BRM. There is a lot more to successfully completing a brevet which is why we strongly urge new riders to first attempt a 200 Km or shorter distance brevet which will function as an orientation for this non-competitive format of events. There are plenty of YouTube videos available online to help you prepare for your first 100 Km or 200 Km ride.
