The ride marshal may not be available at a control point due to various mitigating circumstances. If the ride marshal is unavailable at the control point to stamp your brevet card then you may draw an ATM slip from the nearest ATM, get a food bill from a nearby establishment that gives date & time on a printed invoice (could be for a bottle of water) or click a selfie with geo-tag (location services in iOS) activated on your smartphone.
