Terrain - PBP has 12,000 metres of elevation gain so you will have to be good at climbing hills in order to finish the ride in time. For context, the summit of Mount Everest is 8,848m above sea level.

Weather - Previous editions of PBP have had unpredictable weather like heavy rain storm. The temperature too can range from 5°C at night to 35°C in the afternoon. Train in Indian winter nights so you are better prepared for sub-10°C temperatures at PBP.

Food - You should be accustomed to eating typical French breads like baggette and croissant. Vegetarian and vegan options at controls are minimal but there will be something on offer. You can always carry some snacks and also stop at a cafe or grocery store along the route.

Visa - Getting the Schengen visa can be difficult for many Indians. We recommend that you apply by April 2027 so that if you get rejected in your first attempt then you still have ample time to apply again. If you are travelling abroad the first time or if applying yourself feels challenging then please seek professional help. Audax India community will give you plenty of tips but we can't file your visa application for you.
